"Ministering the Compassion of Christ in Mongolia"
CURRENT MINISTRY:
Paul and Sharon will help train and raise up pastors for the relatively young national church in Mongolia. The Assemblies of God has only been ministering in Mongolia since the early 1990s. The first goal of the Ellis family is to assist at the Fellowship's Bible School. Besides teaching classes and offering spiritual discipleship, they will be pursuing the development of agricultural methods that will equip pastors to support and maintain local churches.
PREVIOUS MINISTRY:
Paul and Sharon Ellis have pastored in Niles, Ohio for over ten years after pastoring a home missions church for four years. Paul has an agricultural background, having grown up on a farm in Iowa. Sharon has been a public school teacher for 10 years.
CALL TO MISSIONS:
In 2003, following our October Missions Convention, God began dealing with our hearts about going to Mongolia and helping the Church. We wrestled with this "Calling" for a few months until God confirmed His Will. Over and over again, God kept asking "Will you go?" One such encounter with God was through a vision. As I was praying, I saw a group of Mongolians in a circle praying. After watching these Mongolian believers cry, I heard the voice of the Lord speak and say, "Will you have compassion?" "Yes Lord," is my family's response to His Call to Mongolia. We want to be obedient to the Lord and we will go! Thank you in advance for your prayers and support. You are vital in fulfilling God's Will to send us to the "Uttermost" parts of the Earth ~ including Mongolia!
